Brian K. Gesik, P.T, M.T.C
Brian Gesik is a native Oregonian who grew up on the Coast in Lincoln City. He attended Pacific University in Forest Grove Oregon for his undergraduate and graduate training, completing Physical Therapy School there in 1981.
Brian finished his M.T.C (Manual Therapy Certification), in advanced hands-on manual therapy applications for the spine and extremities in 1985 through the Institute of Graduate Health Sciences under the supervision and instruction of Stanley Paris, P.T, P.H.D
He was certified in 1993 as a SCS (Strain/Counterstrain) instructor through the Jones Institute, the developers of the SCS method of patient treatment. He taught seminars for the jones Institute nationally for 6 years.
In his free time, Brian is an avid swimmer, mediocre tennis player, downhill skier and frustrated golfer. Most of all, he enjoys his water sports in Hawaii while visiting his kids and grandchildren.
Cheryl R. Gesik, P.T
Cheryl Gesik did her undergraduate, prerequisite studies at the University of Hawaii. She then went to Pacific University and completed her Bachelors of Science and Certificate in Physical Therapy in 1981.
She has been a lifelong learner, refining her craft to better serve her patients in Springfield, Eugene and Hawaii. She has been blessed with great teachers and mentors over the years, who taught her how to effectively help her patients.
Cheryl enjoys volunteering in her church and with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. When she has time to play and explore, she loves the water, where you can find her swimming, boogie boarding, paddle boarding or skiing. She also likes riding her bike, hiking and playing tennis. Her greatest joy is to visit her family in Hawaii.
It is with great honor and gratitude that she continues to be of service to her patients, who have been her teachers and her friends. Even after 34 years, every day is a great day to be at work.
Joshua Yocum, P.T.
Joshua lived in Tualatin, Oregon and graduated from Tigard High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving our country for 4 years. Following his enlistment, he graduated from Husson University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. His background as a manual therapist prior to joining MCOPT includes training from the Manual Therapy Institute Certification Program. He lived in Virginia for 16 years before returning to Oregon in 2019.
When not working, Joshua enjoys cycling, running, the occasional triathlon, hiking and camping. He also enjoys getting lost on his bicycle in the Willamette National Forest.
Hannah Hourie-Collins, D.P.T
Hannah completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2018 at the University of Puget Sound. Being a proud Eugene-born Oregonian, she has lived up and down the west coast and spent a substantial part of her adolescence in Germany. Hannah completed her undergraduate in Environmental Science at Humboldt State University in 2010 and spent time as a fisheries technician and wild land firefighter, before returning to school for physical therapy. She enjoys working one on one with individuals to address sources of pain and dysfunction.
Hannah enjoys being outside, being active and hanging out her husband and dog.
Gwyn Scott, P.T.A.
Gwyn has always had a great interest in the science and art of human movement. She graduated from Mills College in Oakland, California with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a minor in dance in 2004. Her first career was in wildlife biology and natural resource management working for multiple agencies in her home state of Oregon, as well as many other Western states. A desire to transition to healthcare prompted Gwyn to apply to the Lane Community College's Physical Therapist Assistant Program; she graduated in June of 2017.
Outside of work, Gwyn enjoys a variety of physical activities including various forms of dance, yoga, partner acrobatics and aerial arts. She also enjoys activities in the great outdoors such as hiking, camping, and jogging.
Meghan Stetz, P.T.A
Meghan is an Oregon native who grew up in Grant's Pass, Oregon. She always had a passion for the healthcare field and moved to Eugene in 2014 to pursue Lane Community College's PTA program. She graduated the program with an Associate's in Applied Science in 2018.
Outside of work, Meghan enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her 5 year old lab Grizzly. You can also find her enjoying anything outdoors such as hiking, kayaking and fishing
Kathryn "Kate" Armstrong-Bard, P.T.A
Kate was born and raised in Oregon and while living elsewhere, she is always happy to return to Oregon. Kate believes in strengthening the community by volunteering with local organizations when she is able and is grateful that she has a career that allows her to do so. She earned her Associates of Science through Lane Community College PTA program in 2018. Since graduating, she has been working at MCOPT where she has gained experience and extensive training in the Strain Counterstrain method.
With her free time, Kate stays active with gardening, hiking, disc golfing, hula hooping, and enjoys the outdoors.
Derek Woodruff, P.T.A
Derek has always had a passion for exercise, healthy living, and learning how things function. His learning began while recovering from injuries to his shoulder and upper back at the age of 19. He went to see specialists for these injuries and learned the process of healing through physical therapy. The LCC PTA program sparked his interest and he completed his Associates of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant in 2018.
Some of his interests include: fishing in the area, hiking, hunting , music, automobiles and business.
Jason Garner, P.T.A.
Jason began having an interest in physical therapy after receiving PT services following a knee surgery while living in his hometown of Anchorage, Alaska. After moving to Eugene, Oregon, he graduated with a B.S in Pastoral Ministries from Eugene Bible College in 2004. He then graduated as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Lane Community College in 2013. He enjoys working with patients of all age groups and loves seeing people get better and back to doing what they love to do best.
In his free time Jason likes to spend time with his son and is involved in several ministries. He likes to mountain bike, fish, hiking with his dog and paddle board surfing.
